A bake sale of possibilities
Believe in yourself. Sounds like a plan, right? Only problem is that, often, what we believe to be true about ourselves comes from what others believe. Maybe, as a kid, you were labeled as athletic, or musical. Maybe you were praised for being a leader or for being a good listener. Over time, you found your love of dance or your skill at fixing things. You embraced some of your best qualities, rejected others, tested out new ones, got positive or negative feedback, tried, failed, succeeded, etc. You mixed up the ingredients, baked them in the fire of experience and eventually you became "you." But what about all those things that you never considered? What about the characteristics you've valued in others but felt unable to claim for yourself?
So, the question is: what kind of cupcake would you be if you stopped seeing yourself as a muffin? I don't know about you, but I'm ready to try on some new flavors. There are no half-baked ideas.
